Terms & Conditions
By making a booking, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to the following Terms & Conditions.
1. Use of the Sauna
All people using the sauna do so at their own risk.
If you have any medical conditions or underlying health problems, it is essential that you consult your GP before making a booking.
You must not use the sauna if you suffer from high or low blood pressure or any heart or circulatory disorder or suffer from epilepsy or diabetes; are pregnant; or are prone to dizziness or fainting.
2. Sea Use / Cold Plunge
All people using the sea as a ‘cold plunge’ do so entirely at their own risk and this is not covered under our insurance policy.
It is your responsibility to ensure that you are a capable swimmer and able to cope with cold water and changing sea conditions.
Sauna & Sea Ltd does not supervise or organise swimming activities.
For safety, customers are advised that:
The safest way to cold dip is to go no deeper than knee depth and to sit down.
The safest place to swim is between the red and yellow flags when RNLI lifeguards are on duty.
A buddy system should be used, and customers should not enter the water alone.
3. Alcohol, Behaviour & Conduct
Alcohol and nudity are not permitted in the sauna.
Sauna & Sea Ltd reserves the right to refuse admission to intoxicated individuals.
Abusive, aggressive, or inappropriate behaviour towards staff, customers, or other beach users will not be tolerated.
Sauna & Sea Ltd reserves the right to refuse admission or terminate a session where behaviour presents a health and safety risk.
4. Personal Safety & Sauna Use
For your safety:
No shaving or lotions/creams are permitted in the sauna.
Hanging jewellery should be removed before entering the sauna to prevent burns.
Glasses and contact lenses should be removed before use.
Swimwear with metal zips or fasteners may become very hot and should be avoided.
Do not touch the sauna stove, hot stones, or stone basket at any time.
Exercise caution around the hot stones and avoid pushing past others.
5. Children & Sauna Use
You must be at least 11 years old to use the sauna. Anyone under 11 will be refused admission. Proof of age may be requested.
Children aged 16 years and under may only use the sauna when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, who must remain present at all times.
Children aged 16 years and under are not permitted to use the cold shower.
A waiver must be signed by a parent or guardian for any child aged 16 years or under prior to sauna use.
Sauna & Sea Ltd does not provide childcare or supervision for children.
6. Sauna Etiquette
All customers must follow sauna etiquette, including:
Washing sand from feet before entering the sauna
Sitting on a towel at all times
Limiting sauna use to a maximum of 20 minutes at a time (recommended 5–15 minutes)
Pouring water gently onto the sauna stones
Only using the provided sauna water on the stones
Customers are asked to be mindful of others when using shared facilities, including changing areas.
7. Group Bookings
If you are making a booking on behalf of a group, you are responsible for:
Making all participants aware of these Terms & Conditions
Ensuring all users practise safe sauna use
Communicating what to bring and any relevant information
8. Refusal of Admission
Sauna & Sea Ltd reserves the right to refuse admission or terminate use at any time where a health, safety, or behavioural risk is identified.
No refunds will be offered to anyone refused admission on these grounds.
9. Cancellations
The cancellation policy applies to all customers:
3 days or more notice: full refund or full credit
Between 3 days and 24 hours’ notice: full credit only
Less than 24 hours’ notice: no refund or credit
No refunds are given for non-attendance (“no shows”), due to the time and resources required to prepare each session.
