  • These are communcal sauna sessions. There are a maximum of 6 slots so that everyone can be seated comfortably with space to spare!

    We run our social sauna sessions all day on Fridays, and from 9 to 10 on Saturdays & Sundays.

    Also open on (bank) holidays!

  • When booking a private session, you will get the sauna all to yourself and your group.

    You can bring up to 8 people with these bookings. An additional 2 people can be added for £10 each.

  • When booking with us you will get to park on Portstewart Strand for 2hrs for free, a national trust site.

    If you aren’t an NT member and intend to spend the day on the beach the normal parking fee applies. Parking is generally free during winter

    The Sauna is just a few steps away. Do please note that you will have to park your car behind the posts. As the right side of the beach is car-free. Which is great as it will ensure a clear and peaceful area around the sauna for you and your group, even on busy days during the summer!

  • We have set-up an awning attached to the sauna, which is private and also has lockers available. You can get changed in here as well as leave your stuff.

    On exceptionally windy days when we can’t put up the awning, we will notify you. There will still be changing facilities available which we will grant you access to at Harrys Shack at the entrance of the beach.

  • Bring a towel and swimming clothes.

    If you have a water bottle we recommend bringing it, we also do provide paper cups along with our drinking water.

  • Staying hydrated during your sauna session with us is important! Fresh drinking water is provided in the changing area as well as paper cups. We do encourage you to bring a bottle to reduce waste. Be mindful that metal bottles will heat up quickly in the sauna and are best kept outside.

  • Yes we do, the sauna can comfortably seat up to 8 people at a time.

    For larger groups we recommend booking a 2 hour slot so people can alternate. Please reach out to us for specific requests on our contact page here, or through the form at the bottom of this page.

    We frequently host hen and stag party groups, as well as sports teams and sea swimming groups at our site.

  • The sauna is wood-fired using timber sourced from FSC-certified forests, ensuring sustainable forestry practices.

    This traditional method of heating the sauna also allows you to pour water over the hot stones surrounding the stove, creating löyly; the invigorating burst of steam and heat that is at the heart of the authentic Finnish sauna experience.

  • Short answer yes, however sea dips are at your own risk, please refer to our terms and conditions here.

    When swimming in the sea we recommend swimming in the lifeguarded area beatween the red and yellow flags of the RNLI.

  • Drinking alcohol during your session at Sauna and Sea is not allowed, please see our terms and conditions here.

    Alcohol dehydrates you, pair this with sweating in the Sauna, it’s not a great combination.

    However, our friends up at Harrys Shack, right beside us, are very happy to pour you a drink after your session.

  • To use the Sauna you have to be over 11 years or older and kids have to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times. Please refer to our terms and conditions here for more details.

    Children aged 16 years and under are not permitted to use the cold shower.

    A waiver must be signed by a parent or guardian for any child aged 16 years or under prior to sauna use. Which can be found here.

    Proof of age might be required and admission will be denied to kids under 11 years old. Sessions can suspended if staff find that guests have allowed kids below this age to enter the sauna.

  • The cancellation policy applies to all customers:

    3 days or more notice: full refund or full credit

    Between 3 days and 24 hours’ notice: full credit only

    Less than 24 hours’ notice: no refund or credit

    No refunds are given for non-attendance (“no shows”), due to the time and resources required to prepare each session.
